Scrappage deal kicks in 29 May 2009 THE Government’s scrappage deal has launched, allowing drivers with a car 10 years old or more to scrap it in exchange for a £1,000 cash incentive. To qualify, the car must have been registered before August 31, 1999, have a valid MoT certificate (or have expired by no more than 14 days) and been registered to the same person as the new car for at least 12 months prior to being traded in as scrap. The scheme is expected to run until March, 2010, or until the £300million Government funding runs out. For the rest of this article please go to our esteemed Aberdeen Press and Journal. |
